Gentle stretch & tone exercises to improve your flexibility
As a baby we start off being totally flexible. As we get older and due to our lifestyle, our muscles cannot stretch as far as is possible to the point that various ailments start to take over. Stretching and toning can help to lengthen muscles to give a toned effect and improve posture. Regular stretching and toning exercises may delay the onset of muscle fatigue, soreness, improve flexibility and promote mental relaxation.
Using the gym ball
Using the gym ball rather than exercising on a hard flat floor makes the client remain balanced causing more muscles to work harder. It helps to develop control and strength of all core muscles. Lower back mobility and posture alignment is improved.
Use of small hand and ankle weights
Studies have shown that women over the age of 35 can start to lose bone mass which can increase after the menopause. Exercising with weights can aid the increase of bone mineral content which can significantly decrease the onset of osteoporosis and bone fracture especially in the later years of life. With a healthy diet it can help to reduce body fat. It also reduces blood pressure and can improve the blood cholesterol profile.
